From Martin Parr’s sharp eye; from the provocation of the toilet scene in Dan- ny Boyle’s Trainspotting; from Eddie Vedder’s wild urge to climb the scaffol- ding mid-concert; from the liberating dance scene in Silver Linings Playbook; from the dreamlike cinematography of Madonna’s “Rain”; from the legen- dary final scene in La Estrategia del Caracol, with its defiant “ahí les deja- mos su hijueputa casa pintada”; from the passions and contradictions in Love in the Time of Cholera; from Carl Sagan’s theories, reminding us of the fragility and astonishing uniqueness of our existence; from perspectives as different as those of Robert Zemeckis and Quentin Tarantino. And, of course, from the poetic subversion of Björk. Photography, cinema, music, literatu-re, science, performance — all of these have cracked open our perception and made space for new ways of seeing life. To that, we add our own voice: an open invitation to stir it all together — to merge perspectives, aesthetics, lan- guages, and experiences.Because ideas belong to no one. ... CULdeBAL is proof of that: a journey that transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary and keeps growing with everything bold enough to look at the world differently.
